"I have been coming here for years and have always had excellent experiences. The staff is great. Eye exams are always thorough and pleasant. Although I could get free eye care at the VA, I prefer to have my eye exams at Family Eye Care in Osprey."
"Wonderful staff, extremely thorough and great with the little ones! With testing provided by Dr. Orwasky we discovered our daughter's struggle in reading is in her eyes. He ordered a computerized perceptual home therapy program that targets her problem areas. It arrived two days later and she is making incredible progress. Very thankful to have found this office as he is the only provider of this type of vision therapy in our area."
"Dr. Carol and her husband are exceptional people. They are knowledgeable , friendly, and the practice is very clean. We love their little kid play area for our 3yo. I have severe visual disability but they were able to get me into a pair of contacts that were perfect for my daily routines and activity level on top of some glasses my wife loves. Great frame suggestions from the receptionist. Fully recommend you stop by SEE what they can do for you.. :)"
"I've been going to the VA for all my medical care for many years. After my VA eye exam to consider possible cataract surgery, I decided to get a second opinion from a private eye doctor, Family Eye Care in Osprey, FL. I'm not a big "Hero" when it comes to any type of surgery, particularly surgery on my eyes. Dr Carol Orwasky took her time explaining what was involved with cataract surgery. I really like her a lot.
After Dr. Carol confirmed that cataract surgery was needed, she called the Center for Sight office herself to set up my consultation meeting with Dr. Shoemaker. She also got tentative dates for the actual surgery on both eyes.
After both eye surgeries, I met with Dr. Carol for my follow-up examinations. She took her time explaining what to expect over the next several days. I'm very happy with the professional care that I got from Dr. Carol herself and her staff at Family Eye Care."
"I've been going to Family Eye Care for about 10 years for annual visits as well as consultations for preparation and follow-up for cataract surgery.
About five years ago, I had a vision emergency so I immediately went to Family Eye Care. Dr. Carol Orwasky determined the vision discomfort was caused by a detached retina. Because of the seriousness of the situation, Dr. Carol drove me in her personal car to Dr. Niffenegger's Venice office to prepare for retina surgery.
I couldn't have asked for more personal attention. The care that I have received at Family Eye Care has been outstanding."
"Prior to my retiring, I went to Family Eye Care in Osprey for 10 years or more. My insurance was always handled smoothly and my eye care was excellent. After retiring about six years ago, I became eligible with the VA where my eye care expenses were covered by the VA.
About two months ago, I needed cataract surgery in both eyes. I decided to go back to Family Eye Care where I felt I could get more personal attention and personal guidance which is exactly what I got! I decided to have the surgery outside the VA with follow-up care at Family Eye Care. The experiences at Family Eye Care have been excellent! In fact, Dr. Carol Orwasky said that if I need prescription glasses in the future, she would give me a prescription to take to the VA if that's what I prefer to do.
I strongly recommend Family Eye Care in Osprey, FL for outstanding eye care and personal attention."
"At age 24, this is the first time I've ever visited an Optometrist and the experience was great, from beginning to end. Scheduling the appointment was quick and easy, there was barely any waiting in the waiting room, and the eye exam was thorough but quick and painless. This husband and wife duo were extremely professional, but also funny when moments allowed. Thank you so much for helping me pick out the perfect glasses. :)"
"Dr Carol and staff,
Thank you so much for the excellent care and followup you and your staff gave me. Everyone was so professional and kind and I appreciate you all."
"Dr. Michael, Dr Carol and staff,
Thank you so much for the care and special attention you have given each of us. We appreciate everything you have done and continue to do. We are thrilled to know you all! Thank you!"

"Dear Dr Carol,
Thank you for your care, concern and expertise. All are much appreciated."
"Thank you for always being so kind and caring. God gifted you to use that gift to touch lives with His love and you do. In Jesus’ love,"
"Dr’s Michael and Carol and staff,
Thank you for your patience and understanding with multiple rescheduling. All the best,"
Thank you very much for all the Clear Care bottles. It was very thoughtful of you to think of me. I really appreciate it. Kind regards,"
"After my auto accident I wasn’t able to see with or without my glasses. Focusing was very difficult and I wasn’t able to drive. Daily activities were impossible. By afternoon I would have to sleep as headaches would take over my life. I am now able to do all daily activities and driving with confidence. They have even helped me with memory issues that occurred after the accident. I am thankful for such a thoughtful group of doctors and staff."
"We homeschool and getting my daughter to write or spell was very difficult. She got angry at even thinking about letters. Since starting vision therapy her reading speed has improved immensely. The most dramatic improvements have been her spelling and writing ability."
"My son had a lazy and wandering eye. We were concerned his eyes would stay like that. Since therapy, his eyes have straightened up and if they do wander he can correct it easily. He has shown a change in behavior and is thriving in school. We weren’t sure that therapy would work and are extremely pleased with everyone here and their knowledge and it was a huge success!"
"My son had strabismus in his left eye. Surgery was recommended to correct eye function and appearance. Since doing therapy he does not need surgery. His strabismus is completely undetectable. His reading and tracking is 100%. He is doing great in all areas of school work and life."
"My son was falling behind in writing. He was not able to write on a straight line. He couldn’t draw shapes and cutting with scissors was a problem. Even to run on a baseball field was a challenge, never a straight line from base to base. Since vision therapy his school work is so beautiful. His reading is much faster as well. He can now draw any and all shapes, cut out and paste his art work after coloring in the lines. He plays baseball with his age group, runs bases and hits the ball just as he should now."
