Meet Our Staff
Dr. Carol Mendez-Orwasky, O.D.Dr. Carol Mendez-Orwasky received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in 1988 and was her class recipient of the award for clinical excellence in pediatric vision. She also has a Dispensing Optician degree and an AA degree from Hillsborough Community College. Dr. Carol is board certified for the management of eye diseases. Dr. Carol is a member of the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Michael Orwasky, O.D., FCOVDDr. Michael Orwasky received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in 1985 and was his class recipient of the award for clinical excellence in pediatric vision. He also has a BA degree from West Liberty State College and a BS degree from Southern College of Optometry. He is board certified for the management of eye diseases. Dr. Michael is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Optometric Extension Program, the Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation Association, and is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development
Lori Black - Optometric Technician
Lori Black has been an Optometric/Ophthalmic technician for over 25 years and has been in our practice for over 10 years. She is originally from Ohio and has lived in Osprey for more than 16 years. Lori volunteers with the Humane Society of Sarasota County. She likes to bike, kayak and play pickleball.
Wendy Adcock - Vision Therapist/ Reception
Wendy has been our office vision therapist for over 5 years. Her dedication to helping people of all ages with their visual processing issues is second only to the raising of her two children. Originally from Massachusetts she has lived in Venice for more than 19 years. In her spare time she is a proud Girl Scout Troop leader.
